Several of those have been done (not counting the period originals)
I once thought of doing something like that to my car, but I would feel bad cutting up an intact survivor car.

My friend and Merc mechanic has a black over red W111 and it’s great, I would just sport it up a bit like this one. But a beat up old grille and paint it.
I could always do this but I have the diesel so it doesn’t make much sense!

Two tone cars are relatively uncommon. There are still numerous unloved W111s that would make cool racers or rally cars, just gotta put in the elbow grease.
My car has survived the past 50+ years relatively unscathed, as it has been enjoyed and has over 200K on it. I couldn’t modify it too much:
But if I found a barnfind that had already been messed with, maybe.
A diesel rally car would be funny in an ironic way. Especially if a 240D automatic.
